Generally clamping unit could be divided into:

• Three plate: Clamping unit consisted of three major plates
• Two plate: Clamping unit consisted of two major plates

Three plate clamping unit is consisted of 3 major plates which are machine plate for mold fixed side, plate for mold moving side, Plate for providing Movement to drive plate for mold moving side. See illustration of Three plate clamping unit in Pic.-1.

  Pink: Movement Transmission(MOVABLE)
  Purple: Platen for provide Movement(FIXED)

A later three plate clamping unit design with “Tai-bar less”, this design allows same size IMM to load bigger mold and increase productivity. See illustration in Pic.-2.

Two plate clamping unit is consisted of 2 major plates which are machine plate for mold fixed side, plate for mold moving side. IMM with two plate clamping unit could provide the capacity compatible with same size IMM but less space consumption. See illustration of two plate clamping unit in Pic.-3
